The training was comprehensive and exposed me to various situations faced by IT professionals in their corporate environment. I particularly liked the progressive pace that we embraced and the rightful mix of theory and practice. In this way, I feel that my learning has been steady and efficient and I am now more confident in dealing with IT tasks. The participatory approach helped getting everyone involved but I would suggest that the next group of participants spell out what they want to learn.
I noticed that some of my colleagues were quite challenged by the material and at times would inevitably slow down the entire progression. I would suggest that helpers dedicate more time with them to allow the others to move ahead quicker.
Indeed, time permitting, I think we could have covered more advanced concepts and situations ie Microsoft RRAS, ISA, firewall, group policies, and emulate a case scenario of dealing with interconnection between a main office and its branch. This is the only place where we can tear up equipment and make mistakes so I believe that it is paramount that we get exposed and hardened with real world scenarios.
